Turrino wheels are available in two wheel diameters,
a variety of rim widths and three finishes:
- Polished
- Polished and Painted
- Painted
Fitting Turrino Wheels is the affordable way to provide your car
with highest quality alloy wire wheels. Manufactured in England, the rims are made from N4
aluminium which conforms to B.S.5251 and are 4mm thick. |
- WHEEL RIMS are spun aluminium for perfect balance and spoke holes
dimpled for maximum strength and vintage appearance.
- SPOKES tapered in standard and heavy duty, high quality chrome or
hand polished stainless.
- HUBS have contours to match period styles. Pre-war, post-war,
Ferrari, Alfa Romeo and many exact original styles. Type 32, 42, 52 and larger can be
supplied.
Hubs
The hubs are standard 32mm, 42mm and 52mm Rudge-Whitworth spline type. The Rudge-Whitworth
splined hub patent was originally used by Carlo Borrani and today Turrino and Borrani
wheels are virtually identical. The table below shows hub dimensions in millimetres:

Spokes
The outer spokes are the butted type of 4/7 swg, while the inner ones are 5/7 swg. For
polished wheels they are manufactured from stainless steel (specification no.302, tensile
strength 900 to 1,000 N/mm˛) while for painted wheels normal steel spokes are used. This
table gives the diameters for the four different wire gauges:

Finishing
Turrino wheels can be powder coated to match or complement the bodywork of your car. For a
brighter finish we can polish the outside edge of the rim. Both of these options use steel
spokes. The brightest finish uses an all polished rim with chromed hubs and stainless
steel spokes to really set off your car's bodywork.
Turrino wheels are an excellent choice for vintage racers,
offering highest strength and performance at reasonable cost.

Strength and Safety
Turrino wheels have been tested my the Motor Industry Research Association to
B.S. A50. The tests undertaken simulate a 2 ton car travelling 100,000 miles and ensure
that Turrino wheels have been manufactured to the highest standard for road use. The tests
cover both radial and cornering fatigue as these provide the highest stress when in use on
the road. The tests are not designed to guarantee that the wheels are suitable for racing.
